The theme of KBS 2020 Calendar is Korea's Traditional Beauty. It bring traditional beauty for introducing to all people around the world. Through the 2020 calendar, KBS World Radio intends to show Korea's style and beauty to listener around the world by introducing ornaments from the Jeseon period which provide a glimpse of Korean traditional beauty

Ornaments from the Jeseon Dynasty were crafted with unique craftsmanship that showcased beauty and artistry. Ornaments such as binyeo, bojagi and norigae for women as well as geumgwan and hapjukseon for men were used for national rituals and special event and considered to be symbols of status and power.

Embroidered Sachet belonging to Yi Un, Crown Prince Uimin. A sachet was used to carry things and utilized by both men and women. The royal family had sachet filled with aromatic ingredients. This sachet made of silk, gold and silver string, glass Jade and is 7,6 cm in height and 2,2 cm in width.

Samjak Norigae (Tassel), norigae is a typical, traditional Korean accessory that is hug from women's coat string and skirt. Samjak Norigae consist of three norigae as one set. The set has a hook, string and jewels. The norigae is made with glass and metal and it's maximum length is 21,8 cm.

Silk Jokduri (Coronet), a jokduri is a type of traditional coronet worm by women for formal wear. There is a Jade flowers on the top and red jewels. The jokduri is made of sajik cloth and is 7 cm in height.

Ornamental Hairpin with White Jade Butterflies Belonging to Yi Bangja, Crown Princess Uimin. Ddeoljam, or an ornament haripin, was used by women when wearing ceremonies dresses. The name Ddojam comes from the trembling ornaments pun on the jade plate as one moves. It's made of metal, white and green jade and preals and is 9 cm in height and 7,5 width.

Geumgwan (Cermonial Hat), a ceremonial hat worm with court attire by civil and military bureaucrats in the Joseon period. The Geumgwan was worn for national events or ancestral veneration rituals called jesa. The hat was painted gold around the bottom and had two holes for a gold painted mokjam it ornamental wooden hairpin to pass through and hold it in place it in place. Size details: 20 cm in width, 17,5 cm in diameter.

Hwagak Comb Belonging to Yi Bangja, Crown Princess Uimin. Hwagak is a comb used to pull back loose strands of hair when making plaits. The half circle shaped comb has been decorated using hwagakw, a traditional handcraft made from ox horn. Size details: width 3,2 cm length 4,5 cm

Binyeo Box belongings to Yi Bangja, Crown Princess Uimin. It's box designed to hold two biyneos, or traditional hairpin for fixing ladies chignons. They're glinded yellow mountain peonies and lilies in the background while the border of lid is covered in purple glinded cloth. Size details:25,1 cm in width, 13 cm in length and 10 cm in height.

Hapjukseon (Fan) is type of fan with frame made of bamboo sheath which is covered with janji, traditional Korean paper. Calligraphy or paintings can enhance the style while tassels can be added for additional decoration. Size details: 48 cm, 30 cm in length.

Phoenix-patterned Wrapping Cloth, a wrapping cloth made of red hemp cloth, it's also called inmunbo because there is a painting on the cloth. It was used to wrap or cover various object. Size details: 54,4 cm in width 58,5 in length.

Key Charm, the key cham's central body is made of bronze and it has six strands of coins colored in the red that have been intertwined with osaekcheon, or five-colored string. The end of each strand have been embroidered with various flower pattern. Size details: 43,9 cm in length.

Ornamental Silver Knife, a type of norigae worn with plain clothes. The tradition if wearing ornamental knives started when Goryeo became subjugated under the Yuan Dynasty and became widespread in the Joseon era. This ornamental knife is made of marble.

Ayam (Winter cap for women), a traditional winter crap worn by women in the Joseon period for protection against the cold. The ayam generally consist of mobu which goes around the head and deurim which is shaped like daenggi and falls back. It's made of silk and is 27,8 cm in length and width 11,7 cm.

Sega, beras yang ditanak Apa benar bahasa Jawa itu terlalu 'manut' ke bahasa Indonesia maupun bahasa Inggris? Ah...sialan! Padahal aku sudah kenal buku ini sejak Jakarta Islamic Book Fair tahun 2014 lalu! Menyesal-menyesal gak beli saat itu, kupikir buku itu akan sehambar novel-novel dijual murah. Ternyata aku salah, kenapa mesti sekarang untuk meneggang dan mengeras bersama Nyai Gowok. Dari cover buku saya sedikit kenal dengan buku tersebut, bang terpampang di Gramedia, Gunung Agung, lapak buku di Blok M dan masih banyak tempat lainnya termasuk di Jakarta Islamic Book Fair. Kala itu aku lebih memilih Juragan Teh milik Hella S Hasse dan beberapa buku agama, yah begitulah segala sesuatu memerlukan waktu yang tepat agar maknyus dengan enak. Judul Nyai Gowok dan segala isinya saya peroleh dari podcast favorit (Kepo Buku) dengan pembawa acara Bang Rame, Steven dan Mas Toto. Mengenal Tanaman Kangkung Bandung (Kangkung Pagar)

Kangkung Bandung, sudah tahu tanaman ini? Menurut buku  biologi tanaman ini berasal dari Amerika Latin (Colombia, Costa Rica). Ciri tanaaman ini tumbuh tidak terlalu tinggi cuma sekitar satu meter sampai dua meter maksimal tumbuhnya. Kangkung Bandung tidak bisa dimakan layaknya kangkung rabut atau kangkung yang ditanam di atas air. Bentuk daun menyerupai kangkung yang bisa dimasak (bentuk hati) begitu juga dengan bentuk bunganya. Bunganya berbentuk terompet berwarna ungu muda terkadang juga ada yang berwarna putih.
